We know you probably have questions… here are some quick answers!

Frequently asked questions

Do you have insurance?

We certainly do! All of our acts carry full public liability insurance – we’re happy to share details with relevant parties in advance of the event.

Is your equipment tested?

Of course! If the act uses electrical equipment, they will all carry valid Portable Appliance Test (PAT) certification. We’re happy to share details with relevant parties in advance of the event. It is expected that the venues we perform at will have adequate and safe power supplies.

How long do you perform for?

This varies depending on the act, and your event’s requirements. We’ll work with you and suggest the most suitable option when you book. As a general guide, these are our standard set lengths for the prices displayed:
London DJ Live – 3x 30 mins, DJ plays all night
DJ n Beats – 3x 30 mins, DJ plays all night
Decadence Showband – 2x 60 minute sets
NOLA Riot! – 2x 45 minute sets
Neon Sunset – 2x 60 minute sets
The Indie Kicks – 2x 60 minute sets
All Killer – 2x 60 minute sets
Sax Addict – 2x 45 minute sets

How much do you charge?

Our base prices are displayed on each act profile to give an indication of the price range for each act. These are based on a few assumptions though, so may not be indicative of a ‘real world’ price. Factors like travel and related expenses will add to the total. We calculate our prices on a case by case basis, and we’ll always give you our very best price.

We have a special song that we’d like as a first dance, can you play it live?

Yes! For most of our acts / DJs this is no problem at all, and can be offered free of charge. For NOLA Riot! Bookings, If it’s an unusual song / one that the band hasn’t done before, there may be a small charge to have the song arranged for the right instrumentation.

Can we have a say in what songs you play?

All of our acts play a range of material that’s carefully chosen to get your guests on their feet. Our experience has shown that having too many client song choices in a performance can actually negatively affect the flow and energy level of the set. Please trust us to do what we do and bring the party! However, if you’re itching to hear a certain tune, let us know and we’ll see what we can do.

For our DJ based acts, request away!

How long does it take for you to set up?

This varies per act, we’ll give an idea of set up times through the booking process.
If our set up would interfere with your wedding breakfast (or anything else), we can arrange for our team to set up in advance of your arrival at the venue for an extra charge.

What are your standard load in and out times?

Our ‘usual’ prices are based on a load in time of 5pm, with all equipment being packed down at midnight. Each of our acts requires a different setup window – we’ll give some more information through the booking process. Times are always flexible – we can arrive earlier / leave later / provide longer sets / provide a live DJ if needed. All details can be discussed when you book.

Do we need to provide a PA system?

No. We are fully self-contained and bring our own high spec sound and lighting equipment, including engineers, with us.
As standard, we bring equipment to cover ~200 people, but we can cater for ANY size event.
If you need to use a certain production company (for example some central London venues etc), we’ll work with them to make the process as smooth as possible.

What do we need to provide for you to be able to set up?

Unless otherwise agreed, a flat performance area and some safe power – that’s it!

The venue we’ve chosen has a sound limiter – can you still perform for us?

We can work with most sound limiters, so it shouldn’t be a problem. Please let us know the details of the noise restrictions and the venue when you book, we may well have played there before!

Our chosen venue doesn’t have a raised performance area, but we want the band to be seen. Do you bring your own staging?

We don’t currently provide our own staging, we’d be happy to recommend another company if you would like it.

Do we need to provide food and drink for the act?

Yes, we require one hot meal per person (band members and crew). If you are not able to provide this, we will accept a cash alternative so we can source food ourselves. We also require adequate soft drinks (water’s fine!) for all personnel. All other conditions are clearly laid out in the contract when you book us.

Where can you perform?

Worldwide! We are based in London, UK, but are available to travel anywhere in the world to make your event really stand apart from the others. For international bookings we can either quote including all logistical costs (flights, equipment hire), or give you a ‘performance only’ price. For events in the UK, all travel expenses are included when you get a quote. There are never any hidden costs.

Do you require payment in advance?

Yes. We require a deposit of 30% to secure the booking, with the remaining balance paid no later than 21 days prior to the event.

How do I pay?

The easiest way to pay is by bank transfer into our account. If you don’t have the facility for this, we accept payment by cheque (cheques must have cleared 21 days before the event), credit / debit card, or Paypal (4% surcharge for card payments or Paypal).

Can I come and see you live before I book?

Unfortunately this isn’t always possible – the vast majority of our work is for private clients, e.g. weddings and corporate events. We give the client 100% of our focus on the day of their event, and we feel it is unfair to sneak people in to see us. Very occasionally we do public performances, if you’re interested in coming to one, please get in touch and we’ll add you to our mailing list and keep you posted.
